SaneReminders lets you schedule emails to return to your Inbox when you need them. You can use it to follow up when someone doesn’t reply, defer an email until later, or send yourself a future reminder.
You don’t need another app. Just use a SaneBox reminder address when sending or forwarding an email.
How SaneReminders works
SaneBox understands reminder addresses based on dates, days, and periods of time.
For example:
- tomorrow@sanebox.com
- 2days@sanebox.com
- 1week@sanebox.com
- tuesday@sanebox.com
- tues.2pm@sanebox.com
Most logical combinations of dates and times will work. You can also create and manage scheduled reminders from the
Reminders section of your SaneBox Dashboard.
Remind yourself
Want to remember something later?
- Compose a new email.
- Put your note, task, or reminder in the subject line or message.
- In the To field, enter when you’d like the reminder delivered, followed by sanebox.com.
- Send the email.
For example, send an email to:
next.friday@sanebox.com
SaneBox will deliver it to your Inbox at the scheduled time.
Follow up if someone doesn’t reply
Waiting for a response to an important email? SaneBox can remind you only if you haven’t received a reply.
When sending your email, BCC a reminder address such as:
1week@sanebox.com
If the recipient replies before then, SaneBox cancels the reminder. If they don’t reply, the email returns to your Inbox after one week.
Keep the reminder even if they reply
Add .keep to your reminder address:
1.week.keep@sanebox.com
The reminder will return at the scheduled time whether or not someone replies.
Defer an email until later
Have an email in your Inbox that you don’t need right now, but don’t want to forget?
Forward it to a reminder address such as:
later.today@sanebox.com
You can then remove the original from your Inbox. SaneBox will return the email at the time you requested.
Popular reminder addresses
Here are a few easy ones to try:
Reminder address When it returns
- tomorrow@sanebox.com Tomorrow

- 2days@sanebox.com In two days

You can experiment with other dates and times or visit the Reminders section of your SaneBox Dashboard for more options.
Repeating reminders
Need something to come back regularly?
Use every. or each. in your reminder address.
For example:
- every.day@sanebox.com — every day
- every.monday@sanebox.com — every Monday
- every.other.week@sanebox.com — every two weeks
- every.first.tuesday@sanebox.com — the first Tuesday of each month
- monthly@sanebox.com — monthly, beginning one month from now
- yearly@sanebox.com — yearly, beginning one year from now
Manage your reminders
You can view and manage your scheduled SaneReminders anytime from the Reminders section of your SaneBox Dashboard.
Important
Do not rename the @SaneReminders folder. Unlike other SaneBox folders, SaneReminders relies on this folder name to work properly.
Snoozing a reminder from email
SaneReminder emails include a link that lets you snooze the reminder for another time.
Snooze links are valid for 5 days. If you click the link after it has expired, you’ll be redirected to log in to SaneBox instead.
