Keeping Your Inbox Clean After Signing Up for SaneBox
Welcome to SaneBox! You might notice some emails still lingering in your Inbox after signup. Here’s why:
Archiving Your Backlog:
- We prioritize a smooth onboarding experience, so we no longer move emails during signup.
- Instead, we’ll process your email backlog overnight (between 11 PM and 5 AM local time) to ensure proper archiving. This might take a few nights.
Benefits of This Change:
- Faster access to SaneBox features - you can start using it right away!
- Reduced processing time means less disruption for your email flow.
Gmail Folder Size Limits:
- Gmail has a setting that can limit the number of emails in labels (folders) used by SaneBox.
-
To fix this, follow these steps:
- Go to your Gmail Settings page.
- Select the option “Do not limit the number of messages in an IMAP folder (default)”.
Important Contacts in Your Inbox:
- SaneBox analyzes your Sent emails to identify important contacts. Their emails might still be in your Inbox.
- If these emails are no longer relevant, you can:
- Delete them
- Archive them
- Move them to a personal folder
Training SaneBox for Future Filtering:
- If you don’t consider someone an important contact, drag their email to a relevant SaneBox training folder (e.g., SaneLater).
- This helps SaneBox learn to filter similar emails in the future.
- You can learn more about training SaneBox here.
By understanding these points, you can expect a cleaner Inbox soon!
