@SaneLater: Why is Spam now showing up in SaneLater?

SaneBox and Desktop Spam Filters: Working Together

Heads Up for Desktop Spam Filter Users:

If you use a desktop spam filter like Cloudmark or rely on your email client’s built-in spam filtering (e.g., Outlook Junk Mail), you might notice some changes with SaneBox. Here’s why:

Why the Difference?

SaneBox and your internet connection are often faster than your desktop spam filter. This means SaneBox processes your emails first, and potential spam might land in your “@SaneLater” folder rather than your email client’s spam folder.

Solutions for Specific Filters:

  • Cloudmark Users: You can still use both SaneBox and Cloudmark. However, after visiting your “@SaneLater” folder, run Cloudmark’s cleaning process on that folder using this guide: link to Cloudmark cleaning instructions

  • macOS Mail.app Users: Continue using both SaneBox and Mail.app’s spam filter. After visiting your “@SaneLater” folder, manually trigger Mail.app’s spam rules by selecting “Messages” > “Apply Rules” (or use the keyboard shortcut “Apple+Option+L”).

Other Desktop Spam Filters:

If you use a different desktop spam filter and want to know how to configure it for SaneBox’s “@SaneLater” folder, feel free to contact SaneBox support by creating a support ticket.

Remember:

SaneBox and desktop spam filters can work together to optimize your email experience. By implementing these tips, you can ensure both systems effectively manage your emails.
