Apple Mail: How do I find my server settings?

Verifying Your Email Account Settings for SaneBox with Apple Mail

Important Note: SaneBox works best with IMAP-enabled email accounts. POP accounts won’t show SaneBox folders.

Checking Your Account Type:
  • Open the Mail app on your Mac.
  • Click on Mail in the menu bar and select Preferences.
  • In the left pane, choose the email account you use with SaneBox.
  • Click on the Server Settings tab.
  • On the Server Settings page, you can see your:
    • Account Type: Ensure it’s set to IMAP (not POP).
    • Incoming Mail Server Name
    • Username

If your account type is POP, you’ll need to switch to IMAP to access SaneBox folders. Refer to pop2imap.com for guidance on switching.

ActiveSync Users:

Skip these steps if your email server uses ActiveSync. Simply enter your email address during SaneBox setup, and SaneBox will configure the rest.

SaneBox Compatibility:

SaneBox works with most email providers and clients (excluding a very small number of POP-only providers).

Focus on Important Emails:

SaneBox helps you prioritize your inbox by moving less important emails to a “SaneLater” folder. This lets you focus on what matters most and deal with the rest later when you have time.
