What You’ll Need:

Steps:

  1. Log in to your Amazon account and search for “AWS” (Amazon Web Services).

  2. Create an AWS account.

  3. Complete the AWS activation:

    • Enter your contact information.
    • Add payment details (consider using a reminder to cancel the trial if needed).
    • Verify your identity.
    • Choose a support plan (default: basic).
    • Confirm your setup.
  4. Sign in to your newly activated “AWS Console”.

  5. Locate WorkMail using the search bar. Click through, select your region, and choose Quick Setup.

  6. Click Get Started followed by Quick Setup.

  7. Enter a name for your WorkMail organization (company name or even a test name works!).

  8. Once your organization is active, click on its name.

  9. Create one or two user accounts for testing. Note the email addresses you create.

    • Also, under Org Settings, find your WorkMail webmail URL. Open the URL and log in with a test user.

Login Tip: Only enter the username before the “@” symbol during login.

  10. Send test emails to your new address and sign up for newsletters to populate your inbox. Consider inviting a colleague to test things further.
