Making changes to your SaneBox Dashboard can be exciting, but you might wonder where your new folders went in your email program.
Here’s a breakdown to ease your worries and help you locate them:
Your Emails Are Safe and Sound
SaneBox prioritizes your email security. Unlike some services, SaneBox never downloads or uploads your emails. They remain securely on your email server, exactly where they belong.
Making Your New Folders Visible
1. Give it a refresh: Log out and then restart your email program or webmail interface. This simple step often prompts a refresh, allowing your email software to recognize the new folders on your mail server and display them accordingly.
2. Find specific instructions: For more detailed steps specific to your email provider, click on the client you are using below:
Webmail:
Gmail, AOL, Yahoo, iCloud, Outlook.com (Hotmail), Outlook Web App (OWA), Office 365, GoDaddy WorkSpace, Roundcube, TopMail, Zoho Mail
Email Software:
iPhone/iPad, Outlook (iOS), Outlook (Android), Android, Apple Mail, AirMail(iOS), AirMail (MAC OS) , Hiri (Mac/Win/Linux), Postbox, SuperHuman, Thunderbird, Spark (iOS)
Why the Delay?
There are a couple of reasons why you might not see your new folders immediately:
Your email program needs a nudge: Sometimes, your email software requires a refresh to acknowledge new folders on the server. Restarting the program prompts this refresh and brings everything up-to-date.
Large accounts or slow servers can take time: If you have a massive email archive or your email server is a bit sluggish, the initial SaneBox setup and folder creation might take a longer than usual. Be patient, and the folders will appear eventually.
Some SaneBox folders are created on demand: SaneBox folders like “@SaneNotSpam” and “@SaneArchive” are only generated when necessary to streamline your email organization. They won’t appear right away if you haven’t received any emails that would typically be placed in those folders.
Still Missing Folders? Here are some additional tips:
- Double-check subfolders: Some email programs nest new folders within your inbox. Take a peek at your subfolders using the expand/collapse arrows to see if your new SaneBox folders are hiding there.
- POP email users: If you’re using POP email settings, there are some specific considerations. Refer to this SaneBox article for more information.
- Restart your device as a last resort: If none of the above solutions work, try restarting your computer or mobile device. A fresh reboot can sometimes resolve software glitches.
- Webmail users: A quick refresh of the webmail page in your browser can also do the trick.
Bonus Tip: While waiting for your new folders to appear, you can always log in to your SaneBox Dashboard to view and manage your emails there. Additionally, if you have a large email account, the initial SaneBox analysis might take a bit longer to complete.
We’re here to help! By following these steps, you should be able to locate your new SaneBox folders and get your email organization back on track.
