How do I control what stays in my Inbox?

Control the Flow of New Emails in Your Inbox

SaneBox offers different settings on your folders page (accessible through your SaneBox dashboard) to customize how aggressively it filters emails. This setting determines how emails from new contacts are handled:

  • Include New Contacts (Yes): With this option selected, emails from new senders will be placed in your Inbox alongside important messages. This is ideal if you frequently receive emails from new contacts or services.

  • Include New Contacts (No): When this option is chosen, SaneBox will continue to move less important emails (including those from existing low-priority senders) to your SaneLater folder. However, emails from new contacts will also be placed in your Inbox, potentially including some spam or notifications from new services. This setting is best if you prioritize seeing all new emails but understand there might be some unwanted messages mixed in.

By adjusting this setting, you can fine-tune how SaneBox manages your inbox and ensure it balances keeping you informed with maintaining a clean and focused workspace.
