Don’t Panic! “Maximum Connections” Error Explained
Having trouble connecting to your email? You might see an error about “maximum connections” being exceeded. While it might seem like SaneBox is the culprit, it’s actually caused by something else.
What’s the Problem?
This error pops up when your email server receives too many connection attempts at once. It’s likely caused by having too many email apps open on your devices (desktop, phone, tablet, etc.).
Is SaneBox the Cause?
Nope! SaneBox only uses a single connection to your email server. However, some email apps can open multiple connections (often around 10 each).
Fixing the Error:
Simply close one or more email applications you have open. This should free up connections and let you access your email again.
Gmail Users:
There’s a limit of 15 simultaneous connections for each Gmail account. Remember, SaneBox only uses one!
